Terms

DRAFT. These terms are published early so you can see how the service will be run. They take effect, with billing terms added, on the day membership opens.

What this is

getaroom connects private calls. getaroom.chat connects two people. getaroom.video gives a member a room for up to five. We set up the connection; the call itself runs directly between the people in it.

Private, not anonymous

Calls are encrypted between the participants. We do not record them and cannot watch or listen to them. We do keep each member's account details, payment records and the times connections were made. Every room and line belongs to an identified, paying member.

What is not allowed

• No adult use. No sexual content or sexual services, in any room or call.
• Nothing illegal, and nothing that exploits or endangers a child.
• No harassment, threats or hate directed at anyone.
• No spam, scams or automated accounts.
• No reselling or sharing a membership as a public service.

The member is responsible

If you hold a room or a line, you are responsible for how it is used and for the people you invite into it.

Closing a room

We may close a room or line and end a membership that breaks these terms. Anyone can report abuse of a room; reports are read by a person.

The service

We aim to keep the switchboard available but do not promise it will never be interrupted. Call quality depends on the internet connections of the people on the call.

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with its date. This draft: 6 October 2026.
